چکیده

A total of 28 samples were processed, of which 20 isolates were identified as phosphate solubilizing bacteria. Among 20 isolates, 12 (60 %) belonged to B. subtilis, 3 (15%) were B. brevis, 3 (15%) belonged to Pseudomonas aeruginosa and 2 (10 %) were identified as Enterobacter aerogenes. All the isolates exhibited phosphate solubilization (1.009 μg/ml to 1.609 μg/ml), produced Indole acetic acid (5.46 mg/ml 14.89 mg/ml), protease activity and ammonia production. The isolates produced hydrogen cyanide in the range of 1-5 and were able to tolerate high concentration of insecticide chemorise i.e. upto 5% (v/v). B. subtilis PSB 16 isolates gave the highest values for all plant growth promoting attributes and exhibited growth promotion in Hordeum vulgare by showing enhancement in mean root and shoot length of the plant. PSB isolates showing plant growth promoting attributes has potential to be used as biofertilizer agent.

Phosphorus solubilization and plant growth enhancement by arsenic-resistant bacteria.

Phosphorus is an essential nutrient, which is limited in most soils. The P solubilization and growth enhancement ability of seven arsenic-resistant bacteria (ARB), which were isolated from arsenic hyperaccumulator Pteris vittata, was investigated. Siderophore-producing ARB (PG4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12 and 16) were effective in solubilizing P from inorganic minerals FePO4 and phosphate rock, and organi...

Potential use of Iranian rhizobial strains as plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) and effects of selected strains on growth characteristics of wheat, corn and alfalfa

Abstract Many agricultural researches have been performed to improve soil productivity. Nitrogen (N) and Phosphorus (P) are essential elements which are utilized by the plants in large amounts. Phosphorus can be provided by applying chemical fertilizers. Microorganisms convert insoluble phosphate to the soluble form and some bacteria such as rhizobacteria play an important role in this proces...

Isolation and characterization of plant growth-promoting bacteria from Syrian bean caper (Zygophyllum fabago) rhizosphere

Some rhizobacteria have positive effects on plants growth. Syrian bean-caper (Zygophyllum fabago) is a weed plant with medicinal value. This study was conducted to isolate and identify bacteria from Syrian bean-caper rhizosphere. Characteristics associated with plant growth stimulation, such as phosphate and zinc dissolution, production of Indole acetic acid and antifungal activity, were invest...

Identification of predominant epiphytic and endophytic bacterial isolates in rice seeds effective for enhancement of seed germination and plant growth

ABSTRACT-During rice growing season, the symptomless rice seeds from different paddy fields in Guilan province, Iran, were collected. After isolation of epiphytic and endophytic bacteria, 39 isolates including 19 epiphytes and 20 endophytes were selected based on the predominant characteristics. Five Operational Taxonomic Units (OTUs) were obtained based on PCR-RFLP of 16S r-DN...

Isolation and identification of new beneficial bacterial strains from rhizosphere of Citrus sinensis orchards

The rhizosphere is the area around the root of a plant occupied by a unique population of usefulbacteria known as plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR). In this study, the isolation andidentification of rhizobacteria from orange (Citrus sinensis) orchards using 16S rRNA gene, as well asbiological and biochemical assays is reported. Analysis of 16S rRNA gene was confirmed bybiological and ...
